APOSTLE — CLERIC

Apostle — Cleric

Salorras Path: Apostle · 5e 2024 base class: Cleric The apostle is Salorras’s vessel of divine power — the priest, oracle, and holy warrior who channels the will of a god or cosmic force into the world. In 5e 2024 terms the apostle is built on the Cleric class. The elite holy traditions a devoted apostle may rise into (Magewraith, Murder-Call Apostle, Warrior of Eone, Omenar) are this class’s subclasses — its Divine Domains — chosen at 3rd level.

This file is a self-contained 5e 2024 reference. Mechanics follow the 2024 Player’s Handbook Cleric; only the framing is Salorras-specific. Old 3.5e entry prerequisites (caster level, required domains, ordination rites) become roleplay flavor in 5e — a character chooses the domain at 3rd level once the story justifies it.

Spellcasting

The Cleric is a full prepared spellcaster drawing on Wisdom.

  • Spell save DC = 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Wisdom modifier · Spell attack bonus = Proficiency Bonus + Wisdom modifier.
  • Cantrips: know 3 at 1st level, 4 at 4th, 5 at 10th.
  • Prepared spells: you always have access to the entire Cleric spell list and prepare a number of spells from it (4 at 1st level, increasing each Cleric level per the Cleric table); change your prepared list on a Long Rest.
  • Spell slots follow the standard full-caster progression (up to 9th-level spells at Cleric level 17+).
  • Domain spells from your subclass are always prepared and don’t count against your prepared total.
  • You can cast prepared Cleric spells as rituals if they have the Ritual tag, and use a Holy Symbol as your spellcasting focus.

Level 1 — Divine Order

Choose your sacred calling:

  • Protector — gain proficiency with Martial weapons and training with Heavy armor (the holy-warrior apostle).
  • Thaumaturge — learn one extra Cleric cantrip, and add your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1) to Intelligence (Arcana or Religion) checks (the scholar-priest apostle).

Level 2 — Channel Divinity

You can channel divine energy a number of times shown on the table (regaining one use on a Short Rest, all on a Long Rest). Base options:

  • Divine Spark. As a Magic action, point your Holy Symbol and roll dice to either heal a creature or deal Radiant damage (scaling with level), with a Constitution save for half on the harmful use.
  • Turn Undead. Each Undead within 30 feet must make a Wisdom save or be Frightened and forced to flee for 1 minute.

Your Divine Domain adds more Channel Divinity options at 3rd level.

Level 5 — Sear Undead

When you use Turn Undead, you also deal Radiant damage (Wisdom-mod d8s) to each affected creature.

Level 7 — Blessed Strikes

Choose one (you can’t change it later):

  • Divine Strike — once per turn, a weapon hit deals an extra 1d8 Radiant or Necrotic damage.
  • Potent Spellcasting — add your Wisdom modifier to the damage of your Cleric cantrips.

Level 10 — Divine Intervention

Cast any Cleric spell of level 5 or lower as a Magic action without expending a slot or components; once used, you can’t do so again until you finish a Long Rest. (At 20th level, Greater Divine Intervention lets you call on the Wish spell this way once every 2d4 Long Rests.)

Level 14 — Improved Blessed Strikes

Your Blessed Strikes choice improves (extra damage die / wider cantrip benefit).

Level 19 — Epic Boon

Gain an Epic Boon feat (such as Boon of Truesight) or another feat for which you qualify.

Ability Priorities

Lead with Wisdom (spell DC and most domain features). Constitution for durability; Strength or Dexterity matters for Protector-order, weapon-using domains (Murder-Call, Warrior of Eone). A few domains lean on Charisma (presence, certain features).

The Gods of Salorras

An apostle’s power flows from the god (or cosmic force) they serve; the deity’s aspects shape which domain fits. The table maps the pantheon of Ch.07 to the 5e domain an apostle of that god most often walks. Where a Salorras Paragon domain exists (the four elite traditions below), it is the signature choice for that god’s holy elite; otherwise reflavor a standard 5e domain to the deity.

  • Magewraith — shadow-cleric of Kaith’otl, Keeper of Myths; oracular Knowledge fused with necromantic shadow-magic.
  • Omenar — oracle of the Ominous Three (the Threefold Testament); foresight and fate through one chosen face — Domination (Adorys), Healing (Aalokye), or Time (Othrax).
