OMENAR

Salorras Paragon: Omenar · Base Path: Apostle (Cleric) + Legatee · OSE build: custom dual Cleric-and-essencer class A custom OSE class for the rare priests of the Ominous Three (the Threefold Testament) who carry the legatee bloodline in their blood — oracle-essencers of Kyrdis who marry divine prayer with essence-combustion and loose the two together as a single wave of power. Played from 1st level; the character’s baptism into the Omen is part of their background.
History tells that the god Adorys, in a moment of mercy and with the consent of the rest of the Triptych — Aalokye and Othrax — gifted the people of Asmeda the anointing of the legatees. For ages the legatees led great companies of people and established humanity across all of western Asmeda; and while their leading power frayed elsewhere with the passing of the Eras, in Kyrdis it did not. The omenars are the priests who still carry that anointing in their blood — perhaps the greatest gift a priest of the Ominous Three can receive, for one of the central facets of the doctrine concerns the ascent and perfection of the humanoid peoples.
These blessed priests receive the baptism of the omenar from the Patriarchate of Kyrdis and embody the harshest of the three faces of the Threefold Testament — that of Omen. They are the hand of justice of the theocratic regime, imposing order and suppressing outbreaks of uncontrolled mystic magic wherever they appear within the city-state’s borders. Masters of war, they wield the magic of their gods and the superhuman powers of the legatees alike, enriching their stored essences with priestly spells and channelling that fused magic outward as a commanding wave. When they fight in groups they split their role — some empowering themselves with essences for the front line, others supporting with divine magic — yet even alone an omenar is formidable, falling back on the wealth of options both gifts afford.
Class Overview
Requirements: Lawful alignment; the legatee bloodline; devotion to the Ominous Three; minimum CHA 13 Prime requisite: CHA Hit Dice: 1d6 Maximum level: 14 Armour: Any; no shields Weapons: Any Languages: Alignment, Colloquial
Omenars are priest-essencers — full clerics of the Ominous Three who also carry and burn the essences of the legatee gift, and who can fuse the two into a wave of power no ordinary priest or essencer can match. A prime requisite of CHA 13–15 grants +5% to experience earned; CHA 16–18 grants +10%. As with any priest, the omenar’s divine prayers require a Wisdom high enough to grasp them. An omenar who violates the doctrine is cut off from the gods’ half of their power (see below).
The Omenar
The omenar advances both gifts at once. The columns marked 1–5 are divine spells per day by spell level; the columns marked E1–E3 are produced essences per day by essence level (the capacity of the omenar’s thalamus).

* Modifiers from CON no longer apply. — Saving throws: D Death/Poison · W Wands · P Paralysis/Petrify · B Breath Attacks · S Spells/Rods/Staves. The omenar casts and turns as a cleric of their level and burns essences as a legatee of their level; the XP column is the steepest of any Paragon — twice the plain cleric’s — the price of carrying two gifts at once.
Class Abilities
Combat. Omenars may wield any weapon and wear any armour, but bear no shield.
Divine Magic. The omenar carries a holy sign of the Threefold Testament and casts divine spells from 2nd level, drawn from the standard cleric list and regained through prayer. They turn the undead as a cleric of their level.
Essences. The omenar also produces and burns essences exactly as the legatee does — the thalamus and reactor woke in them with the bloodline, and the essences they know and burn are drawn from the same essence catalogue (the Magic section of this system). Essences are not spells; armour does not hinder them, and they cannot be dispelled. The omenar knows one more essence of each level than they can produce per day, chosen freely across the three essential cores.
Divine Essence. The signature gift. As an elite priest of the hardline Omen face, the omenar forms so deep a contact with the Ominous Three that they can enrich the quintessence of an essence with the power of their gods and loose it as a wave. As an action the omenar burns one stored essence together with one use of their turning power, and a commanding wave erupts in a 60-foot radius centred on them, affecting everyone within — the omenar chooses whether it strikes their enemies, their allies, or both. The three cores answer to the three faces: Physical essences (bodily soundness) carry the mending of Aalokye; Sensorial essences carry the dominion of Adorys; Vital essences carry the shrouded time-magic of Othrax. The effect depends on the core and level of the essence burned:
| Essential Core | Essence Level | Wave Effect (across the whole 60′ radius) |
|---|---|---|
| Physical | 1st | as cure light wounds upon all chosen — Aalokye’s mending |
| Physical | 2nd | as cure serious wounds upon all chosen |
| Physical | 3rd | as cure critical wounds upon all chosen |
| Sensorial | 1st | chosen foes are stilled and cease attacking (save versus spells negates) — Adorys’s calming law |
| Sensorial | 2nd | chosen foes must obey a single barked command, or be held motionless (save versus spells) |
| Sensorial | 3rd | the chosen bend to a course the omenar dictates, as a mass suggestion (save versus spells) |
| Vital | 1st | chosen foes are dragged to half speed, as slow (save versus spells) — Othrax’s heavy hours |
| Vital | 2nd | chosen allies are freed from charm, hold, and curse, as break enchantment |
| Vital | 3rd | chosen allies move and strike with doubled swiftness, as haste |
Where the wave strikes unwilling creatures, each resists with a save versus spells as noted; healing and boons fall on the omenar’s chosen allies without a save.
Enlarged Thalamus. At 5th level the omenar’s storage thalamus widens, granting room for 1 additional essence per day; at 10th level it widens by a further +1.
Catalytic Combustion. From 6th level the omenar can burn an essence catalytically, as the legatee does — forcing greater power from it while halving its duration, declared as the burn begins. The omenar names one essential core whose essences answer this fiercest of all, drawing the fullest measure from it.
Deepened Reactor. From 8th level the omenar’s mastery of their own fire deepens: they may apply catalytic combustion to a second essential core, and the enriched essences of the Divine Essence wave burn with the same intensity.
Seat of the Omen — After Reaching 9th Level. An omenar of proven service may be granted a seat of the Omen — a chapter-hall or watch-house within the reach of Kyrdis — whereupon lay wardens, aspiring priests, and newly awakened legatees frightened of their own igniting blood gather to serve the Threefold Testament and learn the omenar’s twin disciplines.
Ex-Omenars
An omenar who crudely violates the doctrine of their religion — or acts diametrically against the alignment of their gods — loses all their divine spells and the Divine Essence gift, and can advance no further as an omenar until they atone. The essence-combustion they hold by their own legatee bloodline remains, for it is theirs by blood and not by grace — but without the gods’ blessing it can no longer be loosed as the wave.
